Chess Monkey Media was built from a shared love of filmmaking and storytelling. While Blake brings the director’s vision, Jada works to build the foundation that empowers that vision to come to life. We’re still growing—and we’re proud of that. Chess Monkey Media is about taking creative risks, learning with every production, building lasting relationships within the film community all while developing a body of work that you feel.

Director & Co-Founder | Chess Monkey Media

Blake Davis is a Director and Co-Founder of Chess Monkey Media, where he works alongside partner Jada Mangrum to bring original stories from an idea to the screen.

Blake’s passion lies in writing, directing and visual storytelling. He approaches filmmaking with a strong focus on story, performance, and the small details that can turn a scene on a screen into something you feel.

As a director, Blake works closely with his cast and crew to shape the creative vision of each project.

“No matter the genre or emotion it instills, a good film is authentic and memorable. It lives with you forever and becomes a part of who you are.”

Producer & Co-Founder | Chess Monkey Media

Jada Mangrum is a Producer and Co-Founder of Chess Monkey Media, where she works alongside her partner and co-founder, director Blake Davis, to turn creative ideas into stories made for the screen.

Jada found her place in filmmaking behind the scenes, where creativity meets organization and an idea becomes something real. As a producer, she helps take projects from script to set, bringing together the people, locations, schedules, resources, and countless details needed to make a production happen.

Her approach to producing is hands-on and people-focused. She believes some of the best work comes from creating an environment where cast and crew feel supported, respected, and excited about what they’re making together.

Create boldly. Collaborate genuinely. Connect meaningfully.
